Blake Lively & Leonardo DiCaprio never broke up, they were spotted together
I’m not going to go off on some kind of screed about how you should never trust random tabloids. Yes, it seemed like an utterly random (and budget) British tabloid (Now Magazine) got way too much attention when they claimed last week that Leonardo DiCaprio had dumped Blake Lively because his mommy thought Blake was full of herself. From my perspective, Now Mag was just doing what they always do: generally pulling stuff out of their collective asses. It just got blown up to legit celebrity gossip, I think, because so many people are interested in the Leo-Blake pairing, and many are rooting for Blake in particular to botch it. Maybe because she’s so young. Maybe because her hustle is so good. Maybe because she seems more “ambitious” than “talented” and that turns people off. I don’t know. I kind of like Blake and Leo together, although, realistically, I do think she’ll get dumped at some point. But not today! Or any day soon:
Their love knows no distance! Though Blake Lively recently returned to New York City to film scenes for Gossip Girl’s fifth season, the 23-year-old actress met up with new beau Leonardo DiCaprio in Santa Barbara, Calif. Wednesday.
The lovey-dovey twosome were spotted shopping for Carrera X-cede shades at the Solstice Sunglass Boutique. Known for her impeccable style, Lively helped DiCaprio, 35, find the perfect pair of sunglasses.
The coupled talked quietly as they browsed the store, never letting go of one another.
“They seemed very much in love,” a store rep tells Us Weekly. “They were in the store for about 10 minutes before a crowd of fans noticed them and they rushed out.”
Since they began dating in May, the couple has been spotted everywhere from Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif. to European hotspots like Monte Carlo, Venice, Italy and Saint-Paul de Vence, France.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Blake and her team is behind this “sighting” and my takeaway is that Blake’s publicist is as talented and hard-working as Jennifer Aniston’s. I thought these random reports and “sightings” of Blake and Leo were over because he liked things more private, but I guess that all bets are off with this one.
Anyway, they’re still together, huzzah! Blake wins again! Mall Girls Forever! I seriously have my fingers crossed that they make it through the year and beyond. I want Blake to be Leo’s Oscar date. I want Blake and Leo, holding hands, walking the Oscar red carpet… with Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux behind them. Which couple would get more attention?
